Don't fall into the Ferraro trap

Come on people, don't let the Ferraro thingie cause you to fall into a trap.
The trap is to frame this campaign along racial lines.  The press is already talking about African Americans voted this way and whites voted that way.  It is bull doodoo. It is a past that we must rise against and unite as an American people.  

Move on...there is nothing to see here.  What she said was just stupid based on the reality of Senator Obama's background and the work he and his campaign are doing.  It is a major distraction that could make us wallow in a cesspool.  I can't believe that we are taking her seriously.  There are people who think like her.  It's a fact and I do not think anything will change their minds.

Folks want a change, it doesn't come on a silver platter, we have to work for it and part of that work is to not get distracted by pettiness and bigotry.  It will trip us up.  The road to Washington was never promised to be smooth.  There are a lot of potholes on the way.

I grew up in Pennsylvania and went to University in New York State.  I am not surprised at what Ferraro said because as she sits there and says she has had 40 years of civil rights activism, she can still say the thing about  Senator Obama.  That is some two faced kaka.  But it is a reality for some people.  Don't be discouraged.

So take the high road and keep on truckin (ok, I'm showing my age :) )
