Is There Any Hope For Hillary's Soul? w/poll

Is that just wishful thinking from a helpless hope-monger?
I am thoroughly convinced at this moment that Obama is the democratic nominee. The superdelegates will not abandon the possibility of a landslide win this Novermber. The superdelegates will not reject the millions of new voters that Obama brings to the table. And, the superdelegates will not change the rules of the primary in the middle of the process and they will definately not overturn the pledged delegate votes.
I hate to say this, because I want this to end, but I do believe a protracted campaign Can help the democrats. There can be benefits. However, it has to be done the right way. There can be no endorsements of McCain and there can be no race-baiting. If the negatives of this protracted campaign outweigh the positives we are screwed in November.
There can not even be an impression that dirty tricks are being used by either side or the results will be tainted more than they already might be.
If either side's supporters believe that the other side is trying to steal the nomination with dirty tricks, it doesn't matter what the result, you're going to have alienated voters.
Here's my question, if you accept that the protracted campaign helps dems by keeping our agenda in the MSM, how do you explain HRC being allowed to give a defacto endorsement to McCain and the race-baiting? How do we explain HRC's dirty tricks if we are convincing ourselves that the democratic party elite have our ultimate best interests at heart?
Is HRC some kind of rogue agent? Has she decided to say, "screw the party I'm going to fight this thing to my advantage" even if it means the republicans are advantaged as well? Most of the time I believe that she's evil enough for this.
Or is HRC in this thing just to help Obama? Sometimes I really think this is the case, she makes him look good, and I actually believe it could be a good thing for this to go to the convention! That is, if HRC is kept in check.
Any chance Clinton is selflessly using her candicacy as a way to ensure a huge democratic win in the fall?
This is what I want to believe,
Even if it's not true, just believing HRC is not evil and our party leaders are not tools and pushovers would make me feel so much better!
Isn't this kind of ironic? She's lost voters because they believe she's opportunistic and evil. But, staying in this fight and playing fair could be the best thing she does for our party even though she won't be the nominee.
I am not saying that could happen, right now I'm convinced she really is that evil opportunist. But, Obama inspires me to see the best in all people, even Hillary, I would love to see her rise above and do the right thing for our party.
I honestly don't mind the protracted campaign as long as HRC keeps it fair and stays away from the Republican talking points. Is that too much to hope for?
