- McCain is beefing up his billionaire team of high tech advisors. Meg Whitman, former CEO of Ebay, is joining the McCain campaign. There is speculation that she is planning a 2010 run for Governor of California. In addition to a slew of lobbyists, McCain's crew also consist of former Hewlett Packard CEO, Carly Fiorina and Cisco CEO John Chambers.
- The dollar has slipped again. This time we officially lost the title of the world's biggest economy. The "euro zone" has taken the title.
- One third of all women in the US military complain of sexual harassment. Six percent of men in the military reported being sexually harassed as well.
- Al Gore released two children's books on Climate Change. The childrens books are part of an expected six part series about the environment and will be distributed worldwide.
- An earthquake of 5.9 magnitude hit just off the coast of Oregon.
- United and Continental Airlines tagged on another $50 per roundtrip flight as a result of rising fuel costs. Other airlines are expected to follow.
- At least 30 Tibetans are dead after riots in Lhasa protesting Chinese rule. All tourists have been ordered out of the city and Chinese government workers have been ordered to stay indoors.
- A.J. Rossmiller, author of Still Broken, which gives an insider's view of the Defense Intelligence Agency, will give an interview and take questions tomorrow at 3 PM EDT for Sunday Kos.
