Sunday Rasmussen:  Obama 47%, Clinton 44%

I personally expect that Obama's poll numbers to have a good size dip after the media blitzed of Pastor Wright's comments on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.  I expect his poll numbers to dip in the low 40's and possibly high 30's over the next week and then slowly increase over time.

However, it appears that Obama's numbers are not going into free wall right now.

It will be interesting to see what happens to them as Obama goes on his own media blitz this week to counteract these charges as well as go full court press with transparency.

I personally think that the next few days to few weeks will determine if and how well Obama is able to recover from all this negativity that Obama has had from GoolsbeeGate to Monster Mash to Fiery Ferraro to Wright's Wrong.

I personally expect Obama's poll numbers to decrease as low as low 40's to high 30's and then depending upon how Obama responds, if they will go up and as high as they were before.

Obama is off on the right foot by denouncing and rejecting Wright's comments, going on FOX/MSNBC/CNN on Friday, becoming "Senator Transparency" by releasing his 2005 & 2006 Earmarks, spending 90 minutes answering every question that Chicago journalists have about Rezko, speaking from his heart in Indiana about his central message of unity, change, and "one America" and how if we are divided as a country we can't solve our country's problems, etc.

We shall see if any of this works for Obama.  I personally think that Obama needs to go on General Election mode right now and talk about why he loves this country, what specifically he wants to do about our problems, and why he is the best person to do just that.  Obama can't afford to get into the mud with Hillary but should continue his positive message and talk about how he differs with Hillary and McCain.

The good news is that Rasmussen today doesn't have Obama in free fall in the polls.  Let's see what Obama can do to right this ship.
