So, What Do People Think About "So?"

Last week when it was pointed out to Dick Cheney that two-thirds of Americans believe that the war in Iraq is not worth fighting, Cheney's reply perfectly encapsulated this administration's attitude towards the people they allegedly work for:
So?
...and when Dana Perino was asked if Cheney believed that what the people think doesn't really matter, Perino explained that:
You had input. The American people have input every four years, and that's the way our system is set up.
Not surprisingly, Americans disagree with that notion:
When Americans are asked whether they think that "elections are the only time when the views of the people should have influence, or that also between elections leaders should consider the views of the people as they make decisions," an extraordinary 94 percent say that government leaders should pay attention to the views of the public between elections.
I'm guessing the White House response to that will be, so?
