Reality Impinges - and a Cowlike Press finally gets it

Mon Mar 24, 2008 at 04:39:02 AM PDT

Wasn't it just yesterday that Senator Lindsey Graham was telling us how great Teh Surge was going?

Check again, Lindsey.  Once again Republicans' "clap harder" strategy has lead instead to "bleed harder" and "die more," and it looks like the press has stopped playing along.

Oh, and the US economy, George?

The Good news is we're not headed for a Depression.  Isn't that awesome?

But what's really great is how the media is just now, herded along by the thundering press of reality, figuring out why we're so fucked.  It's like they all just woke up from a seven-year stuporous coke-fueled bender.

I would love to be just overjoyed to see the readership and viewership of these major media morons decline even further as we enter the Internet Age of news.  But the reason it's declining is that the media, supposedly the voice of the people, whose duty it is to comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable, has instead papered over these burgeoning disasters until it was too late.  People have started to tune these idiots out because they are no longer to be trusted.

Remember this: if a major media outlet tells you something, check it twice.
