Yes, this has been mentioned and discussed in other diaries today, but I really really really really really really really want everyone to watch the whole thing, and send this to ANYONE they know who's still considering Clinton.
In less than four minutes, she hits bottom, and digs.
It is a very close election, in the popular vote, and the delegates.
Say it enough times and it might come true!
I keep beating this drum: we cannot disenfranchise two of the most important states for Democrats, Florida and Michigan.
Gee, not what you said a few months ago, when you publicly supported the delegate stripping and signed a pledge not to participate (which, incidentally, you broke.)
I don't think the nominee of the party will be considered legitimate if we don't figure out how to count those votes from Michigan and Florida.
Are you fucking kidding me? This is the most offensive thing I've heard out of her, ever (and that's saying something.) Since she obviously isn't talking about herself, she's actually saying that Obama will be illegitimate if the party follows its own rules (which she used to be a strong supporter of, until she fell behind.) That is just staggering. Between comments like this, and the continued public boosting of McCain as superior to Obama, she has become nothing less than a traitor to the Democratic Party and, if only it were possible, should be expelled.
We're willing to have a revote. I don't know how that would have turned out. I have no prediction. We wanted to go ahead and let the people actually exercise their franchise, one of the most precious rights we have in this country. Senator Obama said no. He basically turned his back -- I mean, here's somebody, you know, who runs a campaign about "empowerment", and all of that -- well, hello, what about giving the people in Michigan a chance to have their voices and votes heard?
You petty, amoral liar. You know damned well that isn't true. (You really have to watch the clip to understand how awful this is -- her condescending tone and demeanor in this section is very hard to stomach.) This myth that the Clinton campaign keeps trying to perpetuate about Obama trying to stop a revote is the absolute dirtiest of politics. It's just not true. It's never been true. IT IS A LIE. Obama has been unwaveringly consistent on his stance -- if the DNC wants a revote, he's absolutely fine with that -- as long as its fair. The proposition that Michigan was proposing was patently, ludicrously unfair, unconstitutional, and illegal (as the courts ruled earlier). And, it wasn't Obama who stopped it, or even called to stop it. It collapsed because what the Clinton campaign wanted was ruled illegal. Obama had nothing to do with it. The ACLU did.
She goes on, snidely, about Obama has money and could run a campaign, but "he doesn't want to give people of Michigan that chance". Ugh.
The only possible reason to spew this unethical verbal diarrhea -- the ONLY REASON -- is to hurt Obama in the general election. Thanks for continuing to provide McCain's campaign with endless soundbites!
Michigan is really the clearest example of getting right up to the brink of doing the right thing, and having Senator Obama say "no, I won't do it".
"The right thing" being defined, of course, as supporting an election that tells most of Michigan's Obama supporters "hey, you couldn't vote for him the first time, and now you can't vote for him a second time either! ha ha!" Good God.
But it gets worse. Greta then asks if Florida and Michigan aren't counted, does that mean Hillary won't win the nomination. Hillary's response is very, very telling here -- she actually admits there's no way she can win without Florida and Michigan (the first time I've heard her say this.) Specifically:
No, not at all, because we're going to make sure those votes get counted, one way or another. You can always go to the convention. That's what credential fights are for. Let's have -- let's have the Democratic Party go on record against seating the Michigan and Florida delegations three months before the general election. I don't think that will happen.
The arrogance and indignance she exhibits in this section has to be seen to be believed. It comes across way, way more snide, classless, and entitled on video than it does here.
Either way, she's essentially saying "fuck the rules, fuck my former statements, fuck the pledge I signed, fuck anything and anyone who stands in my way of this nomination, one way or another."
As an extra insult, she actually ends the next question with:
You know, delegates are free to exercise their judgment -- all delegates.
Go. To. Hell.
She has now openly declared herself to be an enemy of Democratic principles, and has admitted her new strategy is to smear Obama so badly that pledged delegates will have to change their votes to her, thereby completely going against the wishes of the voters they represent!! How can you claim, with a straight face, that you're the only candidate devoted to the sanctity of every vote, while simultaneously arguing the exact opposite position, that delegates don't have to abide by the voters' wishes at all?
This is getting increasingly unreal. Please send the above video to everyone you know. She is simply, utterly, unambiguously unfit to be President of the United States.
