Top comments - my presidential candidate pick

Before I forget, here's my obligatory plug for Anne Barth in Congress. She's our WV-02 candidate. If you're looking to support a candidate, I suggest her. We've got a good shot at defeating the rightwing Bush Republican Rep. Shelley Moore Capito.
Now on to my presidential candidate pick - my first diary about the presidential race this cycle. (I feel so glad to be joining the crowd.)
I turned 18 in 1982 so I didn't get to vote for candidates before then.
I grew up in Ohio, so my candidate in my first presidential election cycle was Sen. John Glenn of Ohio in 1984.

.
That didn't work out so well for the Glenn campaign. That should have foreshadowed somethings for me.
There was Sen. Al Gore of Tennessee in 1988

Then in 1992, my preferred presidential candidate, Mario Cuomo, didn't even enter.
My next pick, Sen. Tom Harkin of Iowa, did well at the beginning, but faded quickly.

In 1996, I supported President Bill Clinton's re-election.

In 2000, there wasn't much of a primary process with Vice President Al Gore running against Bill Bradley. I had actually liked Al more in 1988, especially after he picked Joe Lieberman as his vice presidential pick. But the election was stolen in Florida.

In 2004, I liked retired Gen. Wes Clark.

And this year I was for Sen. Chris Dodd.

Carnacki presidential support has been the kiss of death to campaigns.
But in each of those general elections, and in the upcoming one, I went on to support the Democratic nominee.
On to tonight's Top Comments. You can send your nominations to Topcomments AT gmail DOT com.
