I'm Barack Obama - and So Are You

You know, the politics of character assassination is rearing its ugly head again. As a 2004 Dean supporter, I recognize its stench when I see and hear it. The status quo of our society is in fear.
They fear Hope.
They fear Change.
Those are the two things the American people have stated (in polls and with their votes) that they want most right now. But the status quo doesn’t care about that. They care about protecting their positions of power and investments. The last days of the Bush administration (evil empire) are upon us, and certain people in powerful positions do not want a progressive administration coming in and shaking things up.
Obama is an honorable man, and he’s run one of the best campaigns many of us have ever seen. We know that he’s the real deal. He’s the people’s representative – that’s why we’re so excited. An Obama administration will go to work trying to improve the lives of every day people.
The only thing standing in his way right now is the status quo.
They are trying to "Dean Scream" him.
Four years ago when I watched the MSM and powers that be do this to Dean I felt helpless. The endless loop of tape kept playing over and over, and the hacks kept talking about how Dean was unfit to be president because he was too angry, crazy, etc.
How’s that angry, crazy guy working out for us now, my fellow dems?
Yeah, it was bull then and it’s bull now.
They can’t get Obama on corruption, so they’ve decided to stereotype him as that "scary black man" who can’t be trusted to run the highest office in our country. As you can see, they are going all out with this theme. They are looking to damage his campaign and make his white supporters turn away from giving him the ultimate power.
Hillary and her supporters are buying into this because she (and they) know this is her only chance to take him down. Rev. Wright is being used as the "angry black man" to scare people away from Obama.
Make no mistake, people, we are in a battle royale for the heart and soul of the democratic party. Obama and Dean represent the democratic wing of the democratic party. They listen to the base of the party and are not ashamed at being democrats. They are not republican appeasers.
We know what the other side represents. The side that’s working hard right now to take Obama down for the count.
Our hero is very good at taking them on, but make no mistake, he’s up against a huge block of rich and powerful people, from all sides, who don’t want to see him win.
If this were four years ago, he’d be toast, but things are different this time – our eyes are open to their crap. The people in this country have been beaten down and demoralized enough. We are tired and outraged at their audacity of corruption.
Obama is not alone in this fight. He’s got millions of supporters behind him. It’s the little people vs. the Fat Cats. The Fat Cats have had their way in this country for 30 years. You know what I say to that? No more!
I’m reminded of that moment in the movie Spartacus where his enemies have caught up with him and they are looking to take him to prison. Spartacus is standing amongst his loyal supporters, but the enemy doesn’t know what he looks like so they ask for him to be identified.
One by one, men step forward and say, "I’m Spartacus", meaning they are all fighting for the same cause. Spartacus was the leader, but the movement was more powerful than one man.
So, at this critical point in the primary season, I’m standing up to be counted.
I’m Obama!
When you smear him, you smear me.
When you misrepresent his words, you misrepresent my words.
When you say he should wait his turn, you’re saying I should wait my turn.
When you say he's not patriotic, you're saying I'm not patriotic.
When you say a Bush supporting republican candidate is preferable over him, you’re saying a Bush supporting republican is preferable over me.
When you try to take him down with lies and ugliness, you’re trying to take me down.
When you say he can’t win in November, you’re saying I can’t win in November.
I’m Obama too.
We're going all the way to the White House.
Will you stand up and be counted?
