With all the vituperative discussion about 2008, I've been wondering just how much folks actually know about the potential candidates.
By that I mean, we are still 25 months away from the Iowa Caucuses. And we don't actually know who exactly is running, even Hillary. There haven't really been any cattle calls that have placed the candidates side-by-side for comparison.
Even a heavy consumer of campaign and elections news like me would have a hard time telling you the personal bios and career accomplishments of the likely '08 candidates.
At this point in 2001, conventional wisdom had Gore definitely running in 2004, John Kerry mounting a reform liberal insurgency to Gore, John Edwards running as a conservative southern Democrat, Howard Dean running an ineffectual Bruce Babbitt-style campaign, Gephardt waiting to see if he could become Speaker instead, and Hillary, Lieberman, and Daschle waiting to swoop in if by some miracle Gore didn't run. Clark for President was at best a kooky fantasy.
Of course, we know that things changed.
Anyway, take the poll. It'll do your mind, head, and brain good.
