My Fibroid Tumor and "Sicko."

Well, I finally watched "Sicko."  I loved it, but I knew I would because I have loved all of Michael Moore's films.
Anyway, I wrote a diary a few weeks ago about what to do about my uterine fibroid tumor.....

After watching "Sicko" I am even more concerned about what I should do about my fibroid tumor.  I have the choice of just having the tumor removed, or having my uterus removed.  I have until May to decide what I want to do by the way.
I was initially thinking about just having the tumor removed because I am only 39 and one never knows if someone special came along that maybe I might want to have a baby with him....But, after watching "Sicko" I am now leaning towards having the uterus removed so I won't have to worry about new fibroids growing back and the concern about how to pay for all those reoccurring surgeries.

Anyway, I am angry that I even have to think this way.  This just goes to show you how fucked-up things are in this country when it comes to health care.  Here I am a 39 year-old woman leaning towards having a partial hysterectomy because I am more concerned about the possibility of having to have reoccurring surgeries and how to pay for them.
As it is, I am worried that somehow the junk health insurance that I do have will try to weasel out of paying to have my uterus removed anyway.  I have also lived without health insurance and I actually wrote my first diary about it.  Quite frankly, the stress of worrying about how to pay for health care is the same whether you have insurance or not because I have lived through both.  The only difference is the maybe if you're lucky, you won't have to pay quite as much with the insurance as without it.

This diary really is nothing more than a rant because I am upset, angry, and frustrated that I even have to be put in a situation like this one.  I swear the next time I hear some smug person saying "The United States has the best health care in the world", I am going to fucking scream!!!!
