Sheila Jackson Lee is booed (with poll)

Sun Mar 30, 2008 at 12:27:32 AM PDT

Sheila Jackson Lee, US congresswoman, 18th District of Texas, was booed by her constituents at the local Democratic senatorial district convention in Houston Saturday. She is a Hillary supporter.

Apparently, her constituents are not.

A majority of the crowd showed its support for Barack Obama by shouting his name and booing the congresswoman, letting her know what they thought of her allegiance to Hillary Clinton.

Here is the video from the local website: http://www.khou.com/...

Here is the youtube video, rough and poor quality but you hear the boos and Obama chants:

I've checked her website and can't find any reasons listed for her support of Senator Clinton. I've done a google search and came up empty. Why, specifically, is Lee endorsing her instead of Obama? Well, after some digging, I came up with this quote:

"I am pleased today to endorse Hillary Rodham Clinton for President," Jackson Lee said. "Senator Clinton has a great love for America and has a deep understanding of the issues that face our nation. I look forward to having a strategic role in the campaign and helping this dedicated public servant become the next President of the United States."

Vague, to say the least. Perhaps someone can delve deeper and explain the endorsement, especially since
"Her district when (sic) 90-percent to 10-percent for Obama."
