Just another grassroots diary from a sleepless Obama supporter

Mon Mar 03, 2008 at 09:26:53 PM PDT

So I'm too antsy to sleep. Thought I'd share another North Carolina grassroots anecdote for any of you late nighters that want a bit of good news in a non-March 4th state.

Tomorrow night I will be helping a group of people organize the largest results watch party in the state of North Carolina. The event will be in downtown Raleigh and we're looking at somewhere in the neighborhood of 150-200 people attending. Amongst those will be 5 USMC Iraq veterans. We will be honored by their presence and they will be giving a small spiel about why they support Barack Obama.

Additionally, we will be collecting signatures from volunteers to work the polls on May 6th as well as hosts for out-of-state volunteers. This will be the largest grassroots Obama event so far and I'm fired up and ready to go when I think about how excited people are becoming about his ideas and his campaign.

No matter what happens tomorrow, (and I personally believe he will at least win Texas), we will continue working to build momentum for Obama. And if you want more good news, go read Al Giordano.
