Hillary Clinton told reporters that both she and the presumptive Republican nominee John McCain offer the experience to be ready to tackle any crisis facing the country under their watch, but Barack Obama simply offers more rhetoric. "I think you'll be able to imagine many things Senator McCain will be able to say," she said. "He's never been the president, but he will put forth his lifetime of experience. I will put forth my lifetime of experience. Senator Obama will put forth a speech he made in 2002."
... John has made an ominous threat. What I want to know, besides what he has on Hillary Clinton, is why is he waiting?
Well, come Wednesday, if Hillary doesn't win 65% of the delegates in Ohio and Texas, and still insists on staying in the race and ripping our party in two, it will be time to start treating candidate Clinton with the same golden rule she is using for candidate Obama. Why? Not for revenge, but for the sake of our party and the fall election. Hillary and her campaign are in the process of turning Obama into damaged goods in the fall. They didn't have to go there, but beating Obama became more important to them than beating John McCain. So, the first question for Hillary come Wednesday, should she decide to continue risking our chances of winning in the fall even though the math says it's over, will be the question she's asking Obama today: What negatives will the Republicans throw against you in the fall? And as I've noted repeatedly, there are some negatives out there that most of you don't even know about - but everyone in Washington knows about them, in detail. That's because even Democrats who don't love Hillary, don't go there, for the good of the party. On Wednesday, the good of the party may dictate that we do.
So, why wait, John?
Do you not see the effect Hillary Clinton’s vile attacks of Barack Obama are having? I’m ready to put my foot through my plasma.
I’m not naive. Attacks were always going to happen. The fact they’re coming from our side and in the manner they are being employed, is despicable. And considering there no possible way -- anyone who can do addition understand this -- for Hilary Clinton to come aways with a majority of pledged delegates at this point.
It's really over. And contrary to her supporters fears, super-deleagets aren't overturn pledges delegates like in 1984. In 1984, this was done before people knew what was happening. There was no internet. There was no online grass roots activism. They couldn't get away with it today.
I've had so many last draws when it comes to Clinton's tactics my head is spinning.
And obviously giving key Clinton supporter, Rachael Maddow, pause (to say the least):
Rachel Maddow:
"That's what you say when you want to be John McCain's Vice Presidential choice. That's not what you say when you are trying to become the democratic nominee for president."
Keith:
"Unbelievable."
So, I'm asking John Aravosis, why wait?
She isn’t leaving the race tomorrow no matter what. While everyone in the Democratic party is sitting on this "dirt", the only one benefiting besides Hillary's last gasp of a campaign is John McCain!
Now there’s a chance, slim as it is, that Barack Obama might lose Texas. Even if it's only by a point or two -- meaning nothing in terms of delegates -- but a loss here would give her more leverage to stay in.
That would further give her time to do the rethugs job on Obama while still NOT being able to overcome her delegate deficit.
Why are you waiting, John? It’s time. Let’s get this ball rolling today.
Post it and let's take this venomous caricature of a democrat down. (I edited out "female" after re-reading it and seeing how that sounded -- sorry.)
You might now want to come at this from the arena of vengeance. I don't have that reluctance.
