The Morning After: A Small Round-Up of Election Talk

Wed Mar 05, 2008 at 07:45:41 AM PDT

Some quick election tidbits as we sort through the mountains of information and analysis today:

  • Hillary hints she might consider Obama as her vice presidential choice, while Obama says that it’s "premature to talk about a joint ticket."
  • McCain, in sealing his nomination last night, now sees the conversation turn to his choice for vice president. Kay Bailey Hutchison has said she’s "not interested," and Condoleezza Rice appears to have ruled it out as well.
  • Somewhat buried in yesterday’s election news, Gallup released its latest national tracking poll for the Democratic nomination, showing Obama and Clinton tied, 45-45. Clinton had been behind by as much as eight points just the previous week.
  • Both  Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich pulled off wins in their respective primaries, despite their devotion to the presidential campaign trail.
