Military Thinks that McCain is Unhinged

Sun Mar 09, 2008 at 12:41:55 PM PDT

Not only does John McCain have an anger management problem and embarrassing foot-in-mouth, but according to  Mark Benjamin at Salon.com,  many in command positions in the military are frightened of a McCain presidency because at times they have seen that he "loses his mind."

On MSNBC's Keith Olbermann:

Benjamin originally was doing a piece on the national security creds of Hillary and Obama.  At a later time he decided to add McCain to the article, assuming that all the military was behind him.  But what he found was that many top generals were frightened of a McCain presidency, questioned his mental stability in a crisis and didn't want him to be the one to press the button.

This is a great opening for the Obama campaign in the general election to undercut McCain's experience with something that Obama has been pushing all along: judgment and character.  Compared to the infighting and volatility of the Clinton campaign and this news, Obama comes across as more clear-headed and I daresay, more Presidential.  I'm feeling more hopeful already about the general election.
