The comment that Obama made, like it or not, is going to be a huge fight going forward.

The story of the quote is only going to grow over the weekend. If it's not too late to change the script, SNL will probably lead with it. The attacks will come from the right, from the "traditional media" and from Clinton Dems.

It's ironic that our frontrunner gets criticized for being too optimistic and hopeful and now he'll have to fight, of all things, people trying to paint him as lacking the inspiration and motivation of Americans.

If Romney were the nominee he'd go nuts over this quote, no question McCain likes it too.

And while there is a context to consider, and while we despise that this will be used as another instance of turning the word elite into a negative and making educated people seem out of touch with reality and pushing disgusting polls and opeds like the one linked, the reality remains that anger isn't going to win the day.

So what's the strategy? How does Obama resolve this problem and more importantly, how does he reach the demographics who are being told he alienates them.

Hillary and Lou will be screaming that Obama doesn't understand hardworking, middle class salt of the earth Americans.

Of course we don't believe them but let's prove it.
