What we learned from this...A bit of a rant.

Thu Apr 17, 2008 at 07:55:52 AM PDT

I like millions of others Americans I sat last night and saw the reason this country has lost credibility around the world.  I saw the reason the younger generation has lost confidence in our leaders.  I saw the reason our topics of conversations are more about Brittney than Hillary.  I saw it and it is called the "MEDIA".

I realize this has been diaried multiple times but I feel I had to get this off my chest.  The really sad reality of the so-called debate that played out last night is this - We turned on the TV to hear a conversation, a discuss you might say, an opportunity to hear from two candidates for the U.S.'s highest office.

And what did we get?  A "tabloid", "you-tube" moment.  No wonder kids across this country are using any and all means to do outrageous things, beating up on kids, "jack-ass" moments, "punking" people, etc..  No wonder because last night we saw the equivalent of this tactic broadcast by a "formerly" reputable national news agency.  What a terrible example of journalism and an even poorer example of "media gone wild" for our kids to see.  The executives at ABC should be ashamed.

As Obama has said over and over and over...We have to get away from the old style politics.  But I guess it is hard for him or anyone to do so when we have the likes of people such as Charlie Gibson and George "Stephylococcus" acting this way.  They were not only rude during the debate, they were unprofessional, interrupting OBama time after time...Adding personal opinions, seemlingly thinking the debate was about "them".

Well, I'm hear to tell them, IT WASN'T ABOUT THEM.  Acting in such an unprofessional manner to promote individual's ratings, personal gain, negotiating bigger salaries seems to be the name of the game in MSM.  Charlie Gibson's apparent obsession about things such as flag pins, capital gains (considering he makes millions at ABC I guess that was his motive), and other gutter issues was insulting to the American voter.  While Americans are dealing with one of the worst economies in decades, a terrible war and other issues, we hear "Do you think Rev Wright loves American?"...GIVE ME A BREAK!

The loser in this debate was ABC and the viewers.  We had yet one more opportunity to hear from the candidates, yet we got nothing more than a "jackass" moment, with full commerical support.

I like millions of others will be turning off ABC for good and I hope everyone sticks with it.
