Parking lot of Galaxy Cinema in Cary
music, breakfastalicious snackage, fun and VOTING!

North Carolina's one-stop early primary voting is under way, and we're fired up and ready in Cary!

To celebrate, North Carolina's Obama for America campaign headquarters is hosting the Cary-van for Change on Saturday starting at 9 a.m. in the parking lot of Galaxy Cinema.

Come join us for music, camaraderie, and breakfastalicious snackage as we decorate our cars, truck, vans, go-carts, Segways, and bicycles and Cary-van ourselves to the Herbert C. Young Community Center to cast our votes for Sen. Barack Obama, the next president of the United States.

If you know someone who needs a ride to the polls, bring 'em along, or call us at 919-828-0080 so we can arrange transportation.  We don't want anyone to miss out on the chance to vote their choice in this historic election, in which North Carolina's primaries are key.

We'll be distributing buttons, bumperstickers, and a rich array of campaign swag to everyone who votes on Saturday.

After you've voted and called all your friends, family, coworkers, and ex-boyfriends you're barely even on speaking terms with to tell them about how hip and easy you looked when you cast your ballot early, invite them to copy your so-damned-hip look and rush off to their early voting location and preen for the voting tables.

The Straw Poll: Then come back to the Galaxy to see a special screening of the Frank Capra classic "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington."  Saturday showtimes are 12:55 and 5:20 p.m. Tickets for Cary-van for Change participants are only $5, and you'll receive a coupon for a free popcorn and soda. You can then purchase a special straw that represents your candidate, and cast it into specially marked voter boxes.  Proceeds from the straw poll will be donated to the campaign of the winning candidate.

Have you thought about donating an hour or two for the Obama campaign?  Your help is needed and welcome!  Call the NC Obama headquarters at 919-828-0080 or just stop by the office at 130 E. Morgan Street in Raleigh.  Whether you've got 15 minutes or 15 hours, your efforts are sure to bring you memories of this historic moment in North Carolina and U.S. history as we elect our next president.

All the fun starts Saturday, April 26, at 9 a.m. in the parking lot of Galaxy Cinema.
