I adore C-Span; I'm sure many Kossaks do as well.
I enjoyed Gov. Richardson's speech in New Hampshire. He's an at-ease guy, not dancing around why he's in NH like Hagel did, or Sen. Clinton for that matter. In other words he has a real sense of humor- who doesn't like this guy?
He focuses on education, specifically smaller class sizes, and i'll admit my bias as a public school teacher in saying thats music to my ears. His other emphasis was energy independance. My saturday diary was about how this issue is the true "crisis", a term that the President mistakenly reserves for Social Security.
Gov. Richardson did a righteous thing when he decided to use some of the state's budget surplus to increase the "death benefit" for military families to 250,000 dollars. He said that 36 states have followed New Mexico's example in this regard. He said he was inspired to do this after speaking with the surviving family members of a New Mexico soldier who was killed in Fallujah. The soldier's widow told him they would receive a "death benefit" of $ 11,000. Gov. Richardson couldn't believe his ears and his heart told him that America must do better for the families who are among the casualties of this war.
And finally, to Travolta. To paraphrase what he said to Uma in "Pulp Fiction", "I don't know if thats worth your vote, but its pretty fuckin' good"
