How much will a Busby victory on 6/6/06 be worth?
More than we can possibly imagine.
A Busby victory will mean that at least 100 House seats are in play. Imagine the Republican scramble to hold onto ambivalent corporate donors--you know, the extremely wealthy donors who are not actually connected to the Republicans' extremely conservative ideology but who will donate to whichever party is most likely to be in power--donors who will flood to Democratic candidates.

The latest poll from the CA-50, by Celinda Lake for the Busby campaign, places Busby's support at 47% and Brian Bilbray's at 40%.
This is a nice shift from the last poll, conducted by SUSA for neither candidate which found both candidates tied at 45% each. The shift can probably be explained by the extremely dirty negative campaigning being waged by the NRCC on Bilbray's behalf, and Busby's aggressive and immediate response to the Republican's outrageous claims against her.
The NRCC has dumped $3.1 million into this race. Importantly, Busby has received $2.25 million from over 10,000 donors--thousands more donors than Brian Bilbray who draws support from BIG OIL money.
I just contributed another $55 to Busby's campaign because I know that she can win--but that she needs our help to get there, especially considering the NRCC expenditure.
Please, do whatever you can to make sure we win this extremely important race:

If we take back the House in a landslide, it could entrench the Democrats into Congressional power for the next 10 years--just like the 1994 wave did for the Republicans on the Hill. Imagine what our nation could accomplish with the conservative Republican majority currently dominating the national legislature out in the rain. Progressive legislation, environmental protection, freedom of privacy, freedom of choice, economic assistance for the disabled and downtrodden. You know, everything that's supposed to make America great and unique!
