I'm relatively new to KOZ and this is my first diary, so please be gentle.
I'm watching Verdict with Dan Abrams right now and they just showed a clip from the Tonight show that was taped this evening where Senator Hillary Clinton will be a guest. In the miniscule teaser segment that was played, she walks onto stage, takes a seat, and apologizes to Jay Leno for being late because she was dodging Sniper Fire!
I find this in extremely poor taste. I understand the charm of being able to laugh at yourself, but to laugh at blatant lies you told, which were offensive to many people (as diaried in various times on KOZ in reference to the pilot who flew Clinton to Bosnia, our solders who fought in Bosnia, and the little girl who brandished flowers and a poem) is not acceptable IMO. Not only is it in poor taste, but with her broaching the subject, doesn't that make it fair game for the media, Obama supporters, or anyone else to revisit the matter? Does anyone else feel it is sub-par for Clinton to joke about sniper fire or am I just being oversensitive?
**NOTE TO KOSSACKS: As I've said, this is my first diary, so I haven't mastered the art of linking other diaries to mine. Also, no link for the Leno clip yet. Don't know if it's going to show tonight or tomorrow. (I'm assuming tonight)**
