UPDATED: RNC Wants 'apology' for Calling McCain War Monger

Sat Apr 05, 2008 at 11:58:07 AM PDT

From the NY Times

Ed Schultz, a liberal talk show host based in Fargo, N.D.  called Senator John McCain "a warmonger." at an Obama rally recently. The RNC, as usual, blind as the proverbial bat didn't understand why John "100 Years war" McCain might be called a "war monger" and so demanded an apology.

Here's a good, clear answer to Republicans everywhere:

Eight years of Republicanism should suffice, but just in case it doesn't, let's take a quick peek at what just a few things your Republican revolution has offered:

The senseless war that has killed, damaged, and cost billions. Millions of Iraqis murdered or displaced. And thousands of Americans. Republicans did that.

John Mccain is a Republican.

The ridiculous tax cut and deregulation policies which crumble the foundations of our roads and bridges, our education and our skills, our business and our dollars. Republicans did that.

John Mccain is a Republican.

The falling dollar, bleak economic picture, and high prices at the pumps and produce counter. Republicans did that.

John Mccain is a Republican.

The malfeasance and bribery and contempt for our press, our government, and our freedoms. Republicans did that.

John Mccain is a Republican.

In New Orleans the ruthless destruction of our homes, our children, and our lives. Republican did that.

John Mccain is a Republican.

It's not just Bush, or imperialism, or deregulation, or Katrina or Iraq. It's all of it; every looted dollar and dead soldier.

Republican politicians did that.

John Mccain is a Republican.

You've destroyed the country, gotten us into a miserable quagmire needlessly that you refuse to even recognize is a quagmire, propped up a lying administration that has flouted the rule of law, legitimized torture, suspended Habeas Corpus and destroyed a US city in addition to the US economy. Now your propping up a second round of utter incompetence in picking John McCain  as your candidate--he of the 100 years war.

But you 'demand' an apology for stating the obvious about Mr. McCain, the war monger?

You've made too much of a mess to deserve such consideration. When you and your party apologize for the disaster you've made of this country and this world, then we might consider whether there was too much drama in Ed Schultz's statement--its accuracy is without a doubt.

Until you apologize for the disaster you've made of this country and this world, we're pretty intent on telling the truth.

We would suggest Republicans everywhere and John McCain get used to it.
