The route of the Olympic Torch through San Francisco has been changed. As hundreds of thousands were reported to have turned out along the Embarcadero, torchrunners are about to begin a new route on Van Ness Ave.

traffic has been halted and police security is tight along San Francisco's Van Ness Ave. as SF Police changed the route of the torch. It has now been lit. Torch runners are at Van Ness and Pine.
