LIVEBLOG: Obama phone bank Mom's Day Open Thread!

It's Mother's Day! Have you remembered to call?
Last weekend, we had several diaries like this one where Obama phone bankers could report on their phone banking experiences -- including what's happening, what works, and what doesn't -- and give each other support. (Read the comments in the diary at the link to get a sense of how it works.) I'm continuing that line of diaries today as we move into the prime calling hours in the Eastern Time Zone.
Sunday is a great day to make calls. People are more relaxed in the afternoon and early evening and especially willing to talk and to listen. And if you're calling on a cell phone with free weekend minutes, it won't cost you a thing!
Today, we're lucky enough to have two back-to-back opportunities to make calls for Barack. That's right -- you can call West Virginia until 9 p.m. Eastern (or, if you're me, 8:30), and then immediately turn around and call Oregon.
Yes WE can -- and yes YOU can!
Here's the most important link: use it to make calls! (Seriously, it's easy, and taking some control over Obama's political fate will make you feel good.) Remember to identify yourself as a volunteer! You are not a gun for hire; this is a labor of love.
Let's not be complacent! Even though Obama is going to win, we should not ease up on phone banking. We are fighting for a respectable showing in West Virginia. If Clinton wins by 20-25 points in a state that's tailor-made for her: well, we can live with that. But do you really want to have to explain away a 40-45-point blowout? Get on the phones!
As for Oregon -- it is already voting given its vote-by-mail primary. May 20th is the day for results, but most of the decisions about who to support will have been made by now. We need a strong showing in Oregon to offset what will be a tough day in Kentucky. We need to reach people at home today!
