Artists: witnesses with conscience, Part II (more art)

Thu May 15, 2008 at 09:31:45 AM PDT

The moving beauty of a photographer's invitation can change the way we think.  Interpretation is often left spaciously available for the viewer. This is the power of artful picture-taking. I saw some amazing photos at a couple of sites and wanted to share them with you.

I'm not able to paste the photos from some of the slide shows, with the right-click disabled on the sites. But the links take you to the very stunning visuals. I was able to get one of the paintings featured in a blog post.

I've referenced two specific
shows :

Most recent :  1. FRONT LENS  : Iraq and Afghanistan (photos), and

Less recent:    2.  Gee Vaucher, drawings and paintings show in the Bay Area (April-May, 2008).

Details about each show are available at each link.  Hope you enjoy looking. I found the photos particularly riveting.

Short and quick  as I'm late for work. Art is always worth it to me, though.
