Funny - Hillary's Freudian Slip

Wed May 14, 2008 at 11:30:15 PM PDT

Please be gentle.  This is my first DailyKos diary, and I am just learning how to do this.  I thought this video with Wolf tonight was really funny, as it might provide some insight into why Hillary is staying in the race and how much she will really campaign for Obama.  I hope that Hillary will indeed campaign really hard for Obama, but I definitely have my doubts about that and interviews with faux pas like this certainly don't help me feel more confident.

See Hillary's Freudian Slip "Misspeak" at http://www.cnn.com/...

During an interview with Wolf Blitzer in the Situation Room on 05/14/08 at http://www.cnn.com/..., Hillary Clinton said something very profound IMHO in response to a question posed by a voter about why many of Hillary's supporters would vote for McCain over Obama.  I don't know how to embed a video into a DailyKos post (as this is my first one) so I am just providing the link above.

For the most part, Hillary gave the standard dog and pony show of why it is important for Democrats to unite behind whoever the Democratic Nominee is and that the Democrats have more in common with each other than with McCain and the Republicans.

But, if you watch this clip carefully (particularly, the one minute between 14:30 and 15:30 and specifically the one second at 15:15), you will find something very comical and, dare I say, truthful in Hillary Clinton's Freudian slip.  She said, that:

"As strongly as I can Billy that that would be a terrible mistake.  Anybody who has ever voted for me or voted for Barack has much more in common in terms of what we want to see happen in our country and in the world with the other than they do with John McCain.  So, I am going to work my heart out for whoever our nominee is.  Obviously, I am still hoping to be that nominee, but I am going to do everything I can to make sure that anybody who has ever supported me...the 17 million people who have voted for me to understand what a grave error it would be not to vote for Senator McCain [scratch that] Senator Obama and against Senator McCain, and I know that Senator Obama has said that he would do the same to campaign for me..."

Poll

Did Hillary really mean to confuse Obama and McCain when she said that it would be a "grave error for her supporters to not vote for Senator McCain...[um I mean] Senator Obama"?
