New Zogby Polls show Obama up by 16 in NC, tied in IN

I know, its a Zogby poll, so we will all take it with several grains of salt.

However, these polls were conducted on 30 April and 1 May and are the first to really measure Obama's denunciation of Rev. Wright.

The results are here.

In North Carolina, Obama has 50% to Clinton's 34%.  The margin of error is 3.9%

In Indiana, the two candidates are tied with 42%.  The margin of error in Indiana is 3.8%

Interestingly, on the question of whether those polled will support the other candidate in the GE, there appears to be little difference between the supporters of Obama and Clinton.  In NC, 16% of Democratic voters said they would vote for McCain in a hypothetical matchup between McCain and Obama.  The same percentage said that they would vote for McCain if Clinton was the Democratic nominee.

In Indiana, the percentages were somewhat higher, but still almost identical.  21% said they would crossover in the general if Obama was the nominee and 20% of said that they would do so if Clinton was the nominee. That is statistically insignificant.

OK, again, it is a Zogby poll, so we need to take it with copious amounts of salt.  But this looks like good news.  NC seems to be safe and Indiana is doable.  Since this is a daily tracking poll, the results will be updated each day up till Tuesday.
