Dispatch from THE GREAT STATE OF MAINE...
Cheers and Jeers for Friday, December 19
CHEERS to Paul Bremer. Survives assassination attempt. Good thing someone pulled that tray of army food away from him in the nick of time.
JEERS to Michael Jackson coverage. At one point last night, Jacko charges dominated Fox, MSNBC, CNN, and CNBC at the same time. Thank god for the Spice channel, my oasis in the cable desert.
CHEERS to the big Wall Street surge. The good times are back, Baybee! So why am I still nervous?
JEERS to John Kerry. Puts house in hock to continue campaign. Influential leaders are lining up far and wide to NOT endorse him. But thanks for pumping your dollars into the economy.
CHEERS to New York Post covers: Love `em or hate `em, they're the most provocative newspaper covers in America. Today's Jacko cover is choice.
CHEERS to Howard Dean. Double digit lead in most polls, endorsements from NJ Gov. McGreevey and DNC Hispanic Caucus Leadership, and sidestepping critics with ease. But...are you starting to get a paunch?
JEERS to Ralph Nader. Wants to run, claiming Dems not fighting Bush hard enough. Fool...throwing your hat in the ring makes you a Bush ALLY. Nothing funny about this at all.
JEERS to Iraq war justification. Did Saddam have WMDs or not? Prez's latest response: "What's the difference?" Ah, it's good to be the king.
JEERS to Golden Globe nominations. No nods to "Return of the King" actors, but Jamie Lee Curtis gets one for...[places nitroglycerine tablet under tongue]...Freaky Friday.
CHEERS TO Wesley Clark. Gets all candles lit on blog fundraiser cake. Happy Birthday, General.
CHEERS to New York Freedom Tower. 1,776-foot tall skyscraper will fill World Trade center shoes. One word: "Wow."
Have a great weekend!
