A couple of days ago, it was diaried here about Cooper's interview on Good Morning America, in which he detailed that he heard about Plame from Rove (which we knew), but also that Libby had confirmed Plame was "a covert CIA operative" to him.
I was pretty shocked to see that, moreso that it got so little play--wasn't this news, that someone in the White House admitted that she was covert, thus proving that they had to have known they were committing a crime?
I didn't press it, because I worried that the writer had simply gotten it wrong.
Well...
here's an "updated" version.
-----
Oct. 31 2005 -- One of the reporters at the center of the investigation into the leak of the identity of an undercover CIA officer, says he first learned the agent's name from President Bush's top political advisor, Karl Rove.
Time magazine reporter Matt Cooper also said today in an interview with "Good Morning America," that the vice president's chief of staff, I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, confirmed to him that Ambassador Joseph Wilson's wife, Valerie Plame, was a CIA operative.

Hey, what happened to the "covert?" Look at the bottom of the article:
-----
This update corrects two errors in an earlier version of the story, which referred to Nigeria instead of Niger, and stated that Libby in his conversations with a Time reporter referred to Valerie Plame as a covert CIA operative. ABC News regrets the error.

Whoops. No wonder they got it wrong--they couldn't even get the country right. Serves me right for thinking that GMA might actually have broken NEWS.
So carry on, and please be careful if you were planning on using this article as proof of her status or their knowledge of it.
PS--if you hate the '-----' separators, someone please comment on the proper tag to quote a passage. The <quote> tag doesn't appear to work here.
