Come Out, Come out, Charlie Crist! (with poll)

Time and again, it has been demonstrated that the more GLBT people comeout, and the more straight people interact with GLBT people in thier families and workplaces and daily life, the more those people are going to support GLBT equality.
This has again been evidenced in New Jersey, whose newest supporter of gay marriage equality is Rep. Steve Rothman, weho came aroun d on gay marriage when an openly lesbian step-daughter joined his family.
This is why I am imploring Florida Gov. Charlie Crist to COME OUT OF THE CLOSET!

Today, the North Jersey Record reported on Rep. Rothman's recent change of heart.
From the article:
As a former mayor of Englewood, Rothman performed many marriage ceremonies. In a phone interview Wednesday, he said the "issue of gay marriage has been on my mind" ever since those days. Yet despite his two biological children often telling him that "of course, gay people should be able to be married," he still would respond, "I'm not there yet."
What got him there was a new marriage, and with it, the addition of three stepchildren to his family. His evolution on same-sex marriage is not unusual. When someone knows an openly gay or lesbian person, his or her views on equality broaden. Rothman is embracing a brave, new lavender world because like any parent, he wants his children to live happy, productive lives.
"Life can be short and hurtful for some," he said. "Anytime anyone in the community speaks out against discrimination, it advances the cause of ending discrimination."
I couldn't have said it better myself. Which is why I am imploring Charlie Crist to buck up, be a man, and come out of the closet.
Charlie, think of what a roll model you will be to all of the overly tan closeted homos in the world. There are probably thousands of them down in Florida with you. When they see a prominent overly tan man like you come out, they may finally be able to make that bold move themselves. THE CLOSETED OVERLY TAN PEOPLE OF THE WORLD ARE DEPENDING ON YOU.
And it's not like you homosexuality is a secret, Charlie. Even, according to Greg Mitchell in Huff Post,
The New York Times is in on it.
With Florida Governor Charlie Crist now being seriously floated as a VP candidate for John McCain, all those old rumors that the longtime bachelor may be gay have gained new currency -- along with reports about Crist dating several women. For this Sunday's New York Times Magazine, Deborah Solomon coyly sort of raises that issue at the very end.
So, think about it Charlie. If you come out, actor George Hamilton, and Countrywide CEO Angelo Mozilo are sure to follow. Plus, you'll be sparing yourself the embarrassment of a Larry Craig instance, which is bound to happen sooner or later, as it always does with you closet-case Republicans.
So, whaddya say, Charlie? Are you with us?
