Howard Dean is a phony. Period. He got popular by saying he was from the "Democratic wing of the Democratic Party," something that undoubtedly made Paul Wellstone spin in his grave.
Dean's policy positions were slightly to the left of JOE LIEBERMAN, yet he had an army of stupid liberals who fell for his populist rhetoric and "outsider" posturing, as if he really was something out of the ordinary. He wasn't.
I'm glad that Howard Dean removed the taboo from criticizing Bush. If the Democrats win in 2004, they will owe it in large part to Howard Dean. However, Howard Dean is a conservative on many issues and as a liberal, I am glad to see guys like Edwards and Kerry leading the pack.
