Why Obama needs a "well known" VP candidate

Many on DailyKos have been throwing around different VP candidate's name that could help Obama to either balance out the ticket or help him in some other way , but what many doesnt realize is that Obama may be limited or forced to pick a candidate who's already well known nationally because of persisting rumors about Obama's faith.
I'm convinced Obama just can't pick a candidate who doesn't already have a national presence because i strongly believe Obama will lose votes based on "comfortability" perpetuated by those many vicious rumors who are clearly making many voters who should be voting democratic waver or balk at the idea of voting for Obama.
The WashingtonPost has a piece up which should scare the Obama campaign , stating that those muslim rumors are spreading fast and furious and making people who should be Obama-voters into undecided or "would not vote" camp.
I've also noticed that during the primary , most undecided voters broke against Obama and toward Hillary...If you look at most exit poll taken during the democratic primary , you will notice the phenomenon of undecided always breaking against Obama...I believe this has to do with the uncomfortability level that some voters have toward Obama which is caused by rumors and by his inexperienced.
Even in today's most general head to head polling , you will notice that once the leaners are pushed , McCain usually gets a bigger share of those
You can check the leaners numbers through Rasmussenreport tracking poll...Notice how McCain usually gets about 2-3 point more then Obama.
Also , the generic democratic ballot is running 7-8 point better then Obama...This means there are many democrats out there who may vote for the downballot democratic candidate but still wavering about casting a ballot for Obama eventhough he has a (D) behind his name....Agaian , the muslim rumors + his experience is probably causing this problem.
Obama must find a way to calm this uncomfortability that some voters have about his candidate , and the only way he can do this is by picking a "known and respected" VP candidate who will easily put those voters concern to rest.
Some may ask why he can't pick a unknwon candidate since this candidate name recognition will most likely grow and this person could create a good feeling.
The reason why he should not risk picking someone who is as unknown as himself is because , this VP nominee will only have about 2 months to create a good brand of himself/herself and even as this VP picks up name recognition through massive media coverage , the short time may not be enough for voters to feel like they can trust this new VP...
If Obama goes with someone that has already built through many years a good brand that many trust , it would make Obama job easier and he wont have to worry about his VP making a first good impression.
I believe Obama should be limited to those candidate below:
John Edwards
Hillary Clinton
Al Gore
I also belive the best pick for Obama may indeed be John Edwards because he has that easy going persona that could put people's fear of Obama to rest...I can't think of anyone else that could help Obama on that level.
If Obama goes with an unknown candidate , i believe someone like Jim Webb wouod be the best choice
