I will vote McCain because of his experience

Fri Jun 06, 2008 at 07:10:19 AM PDT

Ok so I am listening to NPR's "Talk of the Nation" yesterday, and I keep hearing former Hillary supporters calling in to express their views.  One thing I keep hearing over and over is "I don't trust Obama--he doesn't have the experience.  I know Hillary has the ability to get things done and I know McCain understands Congress and can get things done but Obama does not and So I am going to Vote for McCain since he is so experienced."

All I can say is WTF?

This line of thinking suggests that somehow the "things" McCain would get done would somehow resemble the things she would do.  This line of thinking reminds me of "Stay the Course" as if evaluating where the course leads is unnecessary.  Now I do not know about the rest of you, but I find Scalito not so Neat-o.  McCain has told us up front that he will appoint more like him to the SCOTUS.  That means we lose the court for a generation. He is also apparently ok with warrantless wiretapping of US citizens.  Not to mention torture, Unitary executive, and endless war.  Plus the main platform of that guy has been further deregulation of Business.  Look at your economy, look at the mortgage crisis, look at FEMA, look at the Chinese toy scandal, look at the corporate media and media consolidation, look at Halliburton for God's sake.  How's that de-regulation working for you?  Happy with the way market solutions are working out?

Perhaps they are right(They"re not).  Perhaps McCain could get things done(he can't), but if they are the things that are the polar opposite of what Senator Clinton would have done, then what have you gained?  What am I missing?

Sweet Jesus. . . where is the Advil?

Vote Obama.  Don't be a sap.
