Of Maps and things

I think this article shows how bad things are for Sen. McCain.

Larry Sabato seems to be working really hard at coming up with a plausible scenario where McCain pulls this out. I have no real issue with his solid and likely scenarios with the exception of Indiana and Montana. They are considered solid Republican states. Has anyone looked at the polls there???? That is more likely a tossup or leaner.

Leans and tossups are where the disagreement lies.

Look at his rendering of the Midwest.  WI, MI, OH, and PA are all considered tossups as are NH and VA.  Obama is leading in virtually every single poll in those states.  I really expect Obama to win the whole midwest and probably NH and VA.

NH, VA, NM, and CO are considered tossups and leaners. With impending Democratic blowouts of the Senate seats, I would move them all at least to Democratic leaners rather than tossups.

Of course it is July and people are rightfully pissed off about FISA at the moment, but a more poll driven map looks really positive to me at the moment.

Positive polls in July still mean we should work our butts off to actually win this.
