Sunday Talk - McCain's Flop Sweat

Has a presidential candidate ever had a worse week than John McSame just had?  Drowning in flop sweat, his campaign called Americans "whiners", social security "a disgrace", and had at least a dozen more flubs.  All of which deserve to be duly mocked.  As do reporters who think McCain "won the week."

How bad was the McSame campaign this week?

Top economic advisor calls Americans "whiners".
McSame jokes about killing Iranians with tobacco.
He has a monumental answer Fail when asked about birth control.
He's dupes 300 economists into signing up with his economy destruction plan.
He called Social Security a "disgrace".
Iraqi leaders punk him out on withdrawal deadline.
He'll balance the budget in first, no, second term & gives no figures to back it up.
Changes a story to pander to the football team of whichever town he's in at the time.
He answers a question about Pittsburg, by detailing his POW interrogations.
But he would NEVER exploit his POW experience and hates talking about it.

"I'll do everything in my power to get those offshore reserves exploited... um, er, explored, discovered and um..."

In fact, the only highlight in John McCain's aweful week was when he heard Iran was testing missiles again.  He had visions of sugarplums dancing in his head:

Most traditional media outlets were in agreement that McSame had a horrible, no-good week.  But across this barren CW landscape, there stood one political journalist so blind and tone deaf, that he proclaimed McCain had won the week:

Flop Sweat hits republicans across the nation -

Mass Depression in the gop:

Conservatives are so depressed over the state of the McCain campaign -- particularly its failure to include and enthuse the Republican base -- that they are preparing themselves for a monumental GOP defeat in November, Richard A. Viguerie, Chairman of ConservativeHQ.com, said in a speech to FreedomFest.

"You even have some conservatives who are considering voting for Barack Obama, because they fear McCain as president would destroy what's left of the Republican brand and would finish off the conservative movement," said Viguerie. "Their mood is that of the fatally ill patient who says 'Let's get this over with.'"

Nowhere to hide:

"We have no safe seats right now," NRSC spokesman Scott Bensing told the Kansas City Star.

Wexler on the surge in Sunshine State Democratic voter registration:
