Shocker, I was right about DNCC blogger passes

Remember when I wrote about the state-level bloggers who got screwed out of passes? Some of the top state blogs were apparently blocked by petty state delegations from what should've been easy calls, keeping them off the convention floor.
The state blogger corps were a special program and a particularly coveted one since it allows those bloggers to sit with their delegations on the convention floor. Regular bloggers can't do that. They may "have access" to the state delegations, but they won't be sitting with them.
At the time, the DNCC's Aaron Myers, a tech guy inexplicably tasked with dealing with the matter (and doing so poorly), responded:
Markos has implied that this forthcoming list of "General Pool" blogs will not have access to the state delegations at the Convention. That’s incorrect. At previous Democratic Conventions and again in Denver, state delegates spend much of their day meeting outside of the convention hall. All bloggers and other members of the media will be aware of state gatherings. They’ll have the same access to provide the same level of coverage. And "General Pool" bloggers will be able to walk around and gather information on the convention floor via "floor passes." Any credentialed blogger will have unparalleled access to their state delegation -- and to this Convention as a whole. It’s that simple.
Aside from the fact that Aaron created a strawman (I never said they'd have no access), the fact was that he claimed general pool bloggers would be able to walk around the convention floor via floor passes. Well, now we know that those floor passes will be limited in number, and won't be with the state delegations.
- General Bloggers who received credentials will only get arena credentials. This allows them to access a general press area and blogger lounge and the concourses.
- A first-come-first-serve section of seats will be reserved within the Hall for bloggers [...]
- The blogger lounge is in the Nuggets work-out room (we hear it doesn't smell too bad!)
DemConWatch's Matt says:
So General Bloggers aren't guaranteed a seat inside the hall but they can lounge in a weight room! The Big Tent is looking better by the minute!
That's fine for the general bloggers. I have no plans to set foot in the Pepsi Arena, buried deep in the arena's bowels (as all weight rooms are). That's why this site has invested resources in making the Big Tent happen. But for the state-level bloggers, the mission is different, and it definitely includes coordination with, and access to their state delegations.
it's clear that my original complaints were correct -- that the best state-level bloggers, cut out by pernicious party hacks and/or the incompetence of convention organizers -- will not have easy access to their delegations on the floor of the convention. And all the tone-deaf responses by Aaron Myers have now proven inoperative.
This was fixable. It's unconscionable that it wasn't.
