John McCains voting record on military and veterans & Barack Poll

Tue Jul 08, 2008 at 11:36:59 PM PDT

I could go on a rant about how Senator McCain is just using veterans and his military service to get elected. But it might be taken the same way General Clark's comments were taken, like sour grapes.

So I went digging into the Washington Post data base on the Senates voting records and the issues the votes are related to, I gathered all of the issues that he claims to support, veterans and military. He's running on the basis that ALL veterans support him and he has been given every award possible by the veterans groups. If he has been given them it wasn't because of his voting record, I can promise you that, read it below and you decide.

As you can see his record is less than stellar, Y = Yes, N = NO and NV = No Vote He claims that veterans overwhelmingly support him for President, my only question is why? He does not support them as this record shows.

Then for giggles I thought I would also post the voting record from the Disabled American Veterans for the other Presidential Candidate Barack Obama

I realize this is a lot of data to comprehend, it took me about 3 hours to dig it out, but if I could do it, why hasn't any of the MSM reporters bothered to do it? Would it keep them from being invited to sit up front on the new "Straight Talk Airplane" and listen to Senator McCain, Senator Lindsey Graham and Joe Lieberman  swap BS stories about how much they help veterans and the troops.

UPDATE:   I highlighted Senator McCains votes to make it easier to read.

From these voting records it is obvious to me that senator Obama stands with and for the veterans and their families, Senator Mccain's record shows him to be a blow hard, he claims to support the troops and veterans, but his votes do not match his rhetoric, it appears he is just like President george W. Bush, claims to have compassion for the veterans, but when it comes time to fund them, it's like nyaahhhh  we can't afford it.  Senator Mccain you need to be renamed Senator McShame.
