I am planning on starting my own weekly newspaper in my area (the greater Hickory area of western/central North Carolina) and I need some help from anyone out there who knows Adobe Indesign 2.0.
I know this is not a regular political post but let me explain:
This area is one of the most conservative in the nation, as well as a big part of the Bible Belt, and we desperately need independent news coverage. The main newspapers in the area are either corporate-controlled, light news farces or entertainment weeklies. The radio stations are right-wing, and the one local T.V. station plays mostly home shopping channel, paid advertisements or paid for religious programming from local fundamentalists! The T.V station does have two nightly newscasts but their main newsreader usually is half-lit when he come on the air or is prone to asinine sayings like last night when talking about our local senator Patrick McHenry, "Senator McHenry is in town (Hickory, N.C.) every weekend, you know, to get away from that political B.S. in Washington." This from the main news anchor! HELP!
I am a journalist and writing is my strong point, I need technical advice on my Indesign questions.
If anyone out there can offer me assistance, and keep in mind this is a grass roots effort and we are on one of the tightest budgets known to man, please drop me a line at ncdruidintheglen@aol.com.
Thanks to all of you out there and thanks for Daily Kos for providing an outstanding service to this great nation.
