Forgive my late-night venting. Just emailed this to his
office.

Dear Senator Miller:
As a proud Georgia resident, a proud Democrat, and a proud member of this state's educational community, I feel compelled to express my utter disgust for your appalling performance on the floor of the Senate this evening, and for your complete betrayal of so much for which so many have fought so hard for so long. I regard you, Sir, as a contemptible and cowardly disgrace to this state, and to the office you hold. ...
In your many, many recent television appearances to sell your book, you often made the point, when asked why you did not leave the Democratic Party, that you couldn't be bothered to do so and that your wife and family understood and "That's all that matters, anyway." Well, as one of your constituents, whose interests you were elected to represent, I must obviously beg to differ. If you can't be bothered to honor and remember the sacred obligations which were entrusted to you, I can assure you that I, and many of my fellow Georgian Democrats, certainly do remember them.
I am only sorry that you are retiring from political life--which only makes your recent behavior that much more reprehensible because you cannot be held accountable for it--because it means that I will not be able to do everything I can to retire you forcibly and in humiliation. But I promise that your elevation of your own sanctimonious self-interest over the needs of your fellow Georgia citizens has already energized many of us to do all in our power to defeat and discard your new Republican allies in this state.
I derive some satisfaction from the knowledge that Saxby Chambliss, whose revolting campaign impugned the patriotism of a true war-hero, and Sonny Perdue, who was elected Governor by pandering to ancient racial prejudices, will pay the price for your own disgrace. Your distinguished commitment over the years to the educational system of this state has already been tarnished and rendered tragically hollow by your alliance with those manifestly anti-education demagogues and by the fiscal disaster your Republican friends have wrought on this state.
You smugly assure Sean Hannity, and the other purveyors of small-minded hate, that the South is lost to the Democrats. Well, this is one Democratic resident of this Southern state who will take special delight when the likes of you and other relics of cultural darkness are joyfully swept away by forces of enlightenment and tolerance. Swept away, that is, by the votes of true Democrats.
Enjoy your retirement. We Democrats will certainly rejoice in your absence. But we won't forget.
Sincerely,
WendellGee
