In his last official act as the outgoing chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Vice President-Elect Joe Biden will brief President-Elect Barack Obama later today on the results of his bipartisan fact-finding trip to Kuwait, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iraq. According to a transition team press release, Biden and Lindsey Graham will offer their findings and assessments to Obama at the transition headquarters in Washington, DC.

Yesterday while in Iraq, according to a VOA report, Biden sat down with  Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki to discuss the status of forces agreement forged by the Bush administration late last year, before traveling to the northern Iraqi city of Kirkuk. While there, Biden "urged Arabs, Kurds and Turkmen to resolve their claims to Iraq's oil-rich city" peacefully so the scheduled January 31st elections may take place.
