Lunch At The White House

Calling it an "extraordinary gathering," President-elect Obama sat down for lunch with George W. Bush, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter earlier today. Said Obama:

All the gentlemen here understand both the pressures and possibilities of this office, and for me to have the opportunity to get advice, good counsel and fellowship with these individuals is extraordinary and I'm very grateful to all of them.

Press Secretary Robert Gibbs described the meeting as constructive, and expressed Obama's appreciation for the "helpful advice ... as well as thoughts on the critical issues" he will soon face.
