Five "One Minutes" Per SideLast Vote Predicted... 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.
Suspensions (1 bill):
1) H.Res. 34 – Recognizing Israel’s right to defend itself against attacks from Gaza, reaffirming the United States’ strong support for Israel, and supporting the Israeli-Palestinian peace process (Reps. Pelosi/Boehner - Foreign Affairs)

H.R. 12 – Paycheck Fairness Act (Rep. DeLauro – Education and Labor)
Wanna see the talking points Members see on these bills? Check out The Whip Pack, put out by the Office of the Majority Whip, James Clyburn (D-SC-06). It's a weekly compilation on each week's bills, and you can see what the leadership has to say by way of selling both the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act and the Paycheck Fairness Act. Useful resource, and free. I recommend bookmarking it if that's your kind of thing. Members also get the much pricier CQ House Action Reports as a resource, but the Whip Pack appears to be a pretty good free substitute. Of course, you're getting the leadership line and nothing else, but it's something to start with. Alternative and overtly progressive analysis of upcoming legislation died in 1995, with the extinguishing of the Democratic Study Group, which used to produce its own materials, and did such a thorough job of it that even Republicans subscribed to their weekly bulletins. Smartest long-term "reform" of the Gingrich "revolution," from the GOP perspective. Democrats, and certainly progressives, have in my opinion never recovered.
But I digress...
In the Senate, courtesy of the Office of the Majority Leader:
Convenes: 10:00am
Morning Business with senators permitted to speak for up to 10 minutes each.Votes:
There will be no roll call votes today.
Once again, to get any information out of the Senate going forward, you have to look backward on their calendar.
What they did:
Unanimous Consent:
S.Res.10, resolution with respect to Israel
S. Res.11, Production of Documents
What they're gonna do:
The next roll call vote is expected to occur at approximately 2:00pm Sunday.
And as a reminder, how they're gonna do it:
This morning Senator Reid introduced the Bingaman Lands bill, S.22, and began the Rule 14 process. Rule 14 is an expedited procedure to place the bill on the Calendar of Business (http://www.gpoaccess.gov/calendars/senate/browse.html). The bill will be read a second time tomorrow and will be on the Calendar on Friday. Once the bill is on the Calendar, Senator Reid intends to move to proceed to the bill and to file cloture on the motion to proceed. Cloture takes 2 days to ripen. Senator Reid announced that it is his intention to be in session over the weekend and that the cloture vote on the motion to proceed to S.22 would occur Sunday at approximately 2:00pm. If there is an objection to waiving the quorum under Rule 22 (cloture rule), there would be a live quorum. Therefore, up to 2 votes are possible on Sunday.

In committee action, the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee will hold a confirmation hearing for Rep. Hilda Solis' (D-CA-32) nomination for Secretary of Labor.
