Today's torment by my wingnut officemate is the allegedly fake GOP talking points memo outlining the potential political gains from the Schiavo mess. He sends me the latest Powerline post declaring that this must be a fake memo, planted by Dems, and as egregious an affront as the 60 minutes National Guard documents.
The Powerline post includes a link to an original Washington Post article that attributed the memo directly to the GOP. A later version simply said that the memo was distributed to GOP members (without attributing its origins). I don't know if the memo is legit or not, but I'm sick of the Powerline hype about dirty tricks. It just doesn't make sense to me that the Democrats would need to do this, when Delay and his gang were doing such a good job of self-destruction. Powerline is insisting that the Washington Post and other apoligize for their errors and issue a formal retraction. And my wingnut buddy just cites this as another example of blatant liberal bias in the mainstream media.
Arghhhhhhhhhhh!!!
