After these past three months or so I can't help but wonder if we have overestimated how good Karl Rove really is at what he does. Condi Rice's appearance on 60 minutes last night and this latest accusation from the Bush camp about Kerry using the bible for political gain are just two more blunders that make me seriously question this near omniscient reputation that Rove seems to have with some people.
What did Rove do to make us think he was so great in the first place? He barely got his guy in the white house even thought Gore ran a terrible campaign, the news media did their best to cover for Bush and after 9/11 it was unpatriotic to say anything bad about him so Rove really didn't have to anything for over two years there. What did he do to earn this aura he seems to have?
