Way back in 2007, 89 Democrats signed on to a letter stating their, "opposition to appropriating any additional funds for U.S. military operations in Iraq other than a time-bound, safe redeployment."
This week, the House will be voting again on another such supplemental. Is it enough that President Obama has his own timeline? Or must the timeline be set legislatively? Are there enough other reasons to back out of, or finesse the demand? Are pledges just dumb things in general?
