Joe Klien on CNN just said that the "Democrats are behaving like Republicans, and that's making the White House a little less than comfortable."
This is an excellent analysis of what has happened to the Democratic party. He's refering to strickly politics and not policy. The Republicans have been surgically strategic since 1994, save that whole Dole detour. They have not only fallen in line, they've marched in line. This has been the primary reason for their ability to win, even though they are outnumbered in the general electorate.
Bitch all you want about idealism, ideology, and who would make a good president, the facts are that a wet fucking sock would be better than Shrub. A Kerry White House would stop the bleeding of the deficit. A Kerry White House would dig through 9/11 pre and post intelligence, and could bury the GOP for a decade to come and win back both houses of congress. A Kerry White House could provide real energy activity. A Kerry White House will provide some Health Care Action. A Kerry White House will provide a greater sense of Global Cooperation, which is the real way to win the War on Terrorism.
Face the facts, a wet sock Democrat is better than Shrub. And the general Democratic Electorate has realized this. They've annointed a 'safe' candidate, a 'winner' who is steady, will not stumble, and has the big hairy balls to fight back when Rove goes 'gotcha'.
It is now time for the Democrats to all realize that there are two issues that decide this campaign season:
- Turnout- This will be the winning factor
- A.B.B.- It's a referendum on Bush, and Kerry is capable of doing that. The Issue here is not what Kerry will do, it is what Bush has done. It is an election pivoted on Bush, just as 2000 was pivoted on Clinton. The base will turn out. Bitch and whine all you want, you know you're voting on Nov. 2nd. Even if it's for a sock puppet.
It's good to see the Dem's acting with strategy. It's gotten the GOP the WH and both houses of Congress. Embrace it, it's the new political reality. You can't fall in love anymore, winning matters too much.
Congrat's John Kerry, the best wet sock we have. You will be our next President. I will work my tail off personally to ensure that!
