- The Chief of the Texas Alcohol Beverage Commission apologized with surprising candor for his agency's raid on a Ft. Worth gay bar on the 40th anniversary of the Stonewall riots.
- Nine people have died and at least 42 injured in an attack on a Jakarta Marriott hotel. Two suicide bombers are blamed for the attack.
