Many people are worried about global warming. I'm not. I try to look at the positives.
For instance, I live in Manhattan and love the water. But now, I'm four blocks from the East River. Luckily, as ocean's rise, so will the East River, and soon, it will start heading west, closer to me.
And today, more good news. I've long loved clouds. Looked at them, learned the different types, photographed them, imagined myself running through them.
But there was always one type of cloud I never thought I'd see in real life, the noctilucent cloud, the beautiful, glowing cloud found only in the polar regions. I just never envisioned traveling to the polar regions, because of the distance, the cold, the fear of running into Sarah Palin (I hope you saw that one coming).
But now, good news. Thanks to Global Warming, the noctilucent cloud is coming to me. Recently spotted in Seattle, Omaha and other non-polar regions, noctilucent clouds are on the move.
I'd get into the science, but the folks in the article do that better than I could, let's just say, yeay, Global Warming: http://www.wired.com/...
Suffice it to say, I am now a fan of coal plants. The old kind. Before emissions control. Time to end this diary, I've got to go now and buy a Hummer. I hear they're real cheap.
