We had breakfast the other morning as we do most Thursdays. The disucssion finally moved over to politics. Without going into a lot of detial, unless y'all want it, I had a comment or reply for everything he said WITH SOURCES. His reply below. Any suggestions on a civilized reply? I already have one going but this group is SUCH a great brain trust that I always love tapping into it. Here is his reply:
Dear Vince,
Your sites are nearly always the liberal sites that seem to have nothing to do but complain. But the agenda of these same groups - and you may agree with them - is what I'm against. Again - don't mistake me as some one who agrees with everything - or even most - of what the current administration does. What make me GLAD that Bush is in power - and not John Kerry or Al Gore - are in office is the horrible agenda of the left. For example:
- Promote the gay agenda to the point it stays in the face - and offensively so - in every way possible, constantly pushing false values of gender dissociation with sex of an individual. God created man and woman per the Bible, and to take the culture futher down the road to Sodom is offensive to me - when I see it in the street, taught in text books and classrooms, and pushed, pushed, pushed at the next generations. The negative impact is beyond measure.
- Removal of the right to have conservative views.
- Outlawing and sensoring conservative thought and speech. Political correctness has gagged many Christians. We're marginalized, and routinely called by terms that are interchangeably with the very terms used to characterize terrorists. We're routinely equated by the likes of liberals with the likes of Timothy McVey. We're routinely called many derogatory terms in the mainstream press (NY Times, and other forums ...) Creation science is been relegated through their propoganda as non-scientific and in the realm of Santa Claus.
- They want to disarm the public so that government can control people - against the fourth amendment. George Soros funds an effort in this vein ...

It goes on & on & on & on. These agendas are supported and / or are NEVER spoken against by Democrats. That's what's wrong with the constant whine: The alternative is SO BAD that we have in power exactly who I'd rather have - no matter all the whining and complaining - and ONE-SIDE point of view that NEVER examines the Democrats who are doing and voting similarly.
Update [2005-7-29 12:23:20 by eAddict]:
My breakfast mate sent me to this site:
World Net Daily
And pointed to these as specific examples of Christian persecution:
Prosecutor: Bible
is 'fighting words'
Exploding the myth
of church-state separation
Rebellion brewing against Canada's pro-'gay' ruling
I am beginning to think we will never see eye-to-eye and I want to belive that ALL people are reachable..
